Slayers 2 How to Become a Demon

Drop reputation, meet Muzan at Mistfall Harbor at night, finish his quests, drink the blood, and roll an Evil Art.

Last updated:

Becoming a Demon in Slayers 2 is a reputation questline, not a shop toggle. You intentionally become a threat to the Demon Slayer Corps until Muzan contacts you, then you finish his tasks, drink Muzan’s Blood, and roll an Evil Art (Blood Demon Art). The route shares early leveling with human players — finish Getting Started mobility and map unlocks first — but diverges hard once you start farming negative reputation.

Reputation drop (and the threshold conflict)

Muzan will not appear until your reputation is negative enough and the game shows a nightfall meeting prompt. Sources conflict on the number. Early-access routes often cite about -500. Multiple post-launch runs report success closer to -40 to -50. Both camps agree on the method: keep attacking targets that lower reputation until the message appears.

Reliable ways to push the number down:

  • Fight Kanoe Demon Slayer NPCs in the snow zone (bear area → left / snow route).
  • Defeat civilian NPCs in towns if you are underleveled or low on supplies.
  • PvP against other players also moves the needle in some sessions.

Watch for the on-screen call to find Muzan at nightfall. If that prompt never appears, you are not done farming reputation — ignore any single guide’s exact integer until the live message fires.

Find Muzan at Mistfall Harbor at night

Muzan spawns at Mistfall Harbor and only during night. From the bear area, follow the compass north to the harbor. If it is daytime, wait or hop servers until night. Talk to Muzan and accept his offer — dialogue options usually include taking the Biwa Bell versus declining. Take the bell. Equip and use it to teleport to Muzan’s Lair, which is where the rest of the questline is handed out. The bell stays as a return tool for later demon steps.

Wrong location, daytime servers, or picking “Not yet” are the usual reasons creators say “Muzan is missing.” Reputation without the night harbor visit will not finish the transformation.

Muzan’s quests: doctor escort and Spider Lilies

Muzan gives a two-part assignment before any blood bottle appears.

Quest 1 — Deliver Dr. Higoshima. Track the doctor, capture him, and carry him back along the quest path. Slayer NPCs spawn and harass you while he is in your arms. Outrunning packs is usually better than clearing every fight; the fail state is dying or dropping the escort too many times, not missing a side camp.

Quest 2 — Collect Spider Lilies. Launch guides ask for nine Spider Lilies (red and blue varieties both count in community routes). They spawn across the map, but the water training area is a consistent farm node. Grab what is up, server hop, and repeat — lily respawns in one server are slow enough that hopping beats camping. Hand both quests in to receive Muzan’s Blood as an inventory item.

Drink the blood and confirm the transformation

Nothing happens until you use Muzan’s Blood from inventory. Drink it to play the transformation. Success signals include a Demon title unlock and a reputation reset away from the huge negative value you farmed. You are a Demon permanently on that character afterward. Return to Muzan’s Lair with the Biwa Bell for trainee contracts and Evil Art rolling.

Sun protection is critical

Demons take severe damage in direct sunlight. Plan sessions around night cycles, shaded routes, and whatever sun-resist tools the live build offers. A fresh Demon who sprints across open Mistfall at noon will burn before any Evil Art showcase matters. Learn safe paths between the lair, lily spots, and farms before you pick fights in the open.

Roll an Evil Art

Transformation does not grant a kit automatically. At Muzan’s Lair, spend spins to roll an Evil Art. Each art then has its own training / obtainment follow-up. Example roster names seen in launch coverage include Arrow, Ice (Cryokinesis / Ice Manipulation), Shockwave, Obi Manipulation, Blood Manipulation (often needs Sickles), and others. Blood Manipulation locked behind Sickles is a common gotcha — farm the required weapon before you invest training time in that roll.

Beginner vs meta first arts

  • Arrow — Frequently recommended for beginners: readable tools, approachable training, solid while you learn demon movement and sun timing.
  • Ice and Shockwave — Commonly treated as stronger meta all-rounders in Blood Demon Art tier discussions for PvP pressure and PvE clear.

If you land Arrow first, it is fine to train it and replay content while you bank spins for a meta reroll. If you hit Ice or Shockwave early, consider committing. For rankings and build-oriented follow-ups, use the Tier List Hub and the Players Hub rather than inventing dead subpage links.

Suggested Demon conversion checklist

  1. Finish early human onboarding (codes, Wall Climb, Book of Guidance) via Getting Started.
  2. Farm reputation until the nightfall message appears (expect either the deep -500 style grind or a shallower post-launch threshold).
  3. Meet Muzan at Mistfall Harbor at night; take the Biwa Bell.
  4. Complete doctor delivery and nine Spider Lilies.
  5. Drink Muzan’s Blood; confirm Demon title.
  6. Respect sunlight rules immediately.
  7. Roll an Evil Art; train Arrow for comfort or chase Ice / Shockwave for meta.
  8. Return to open-world farms and lair quests to gear the new kit.

Mistakes that waste hours

Farming to an arbitrary -500 when your server already fired the prompt at -50. Looking for Muzan at noon. Declining the bell. Fighting every Slayer during the doctor carry. Walking the whole map for lilies instead of hopping the water-trainer spawn. Rolling Blood Manipulation without Sickles. Ignoring sun damage after the cutscene. Avoid those and the Demon path is a short structured questline instead of a rumor mill.

Demons and Slayers share the same continents — your Controls knowledge still applies — but your win condition flips from Corps rank to art mastery and night dominance. Commit only when you are ready to play around the sun forever on that character.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How much negative reputation do I need to become a Demon?

Sources conflict. Early-access routes cite about -500, while some post-launch runs succeed near -40 to -50. Keep farming until Muzan’s nightfall message appears.

Where do I find Muzan in Slayers 2?

Mistfall Harbor at night, after the reputation prompt. Use the Biwa Bell he gives you to reach Muzan’s Lair for the rest of the questline.

How many Spider Lilies do I need?

Launch guides commonly require nine Spider Lilies. Farm the water training area and server hop rather than waiting on one slow respawn timer.

Which Evil Art should beginners roll?

Arrow is a strong beginner art. Ice and Shockwave are frequently treated as stronger meta picks once you have spins to chase them.

Why am I dying after becoming a Demon?

Sunlight damages Demons heavily. Travel at night, use shade, and do not treat daytime open-world sprints like a human Slayer run.
